The Excalibur Group is currently seeking Reception Specialist in Washington, DC to provide care and support for DC residents at shelters throughout the district.

Primary Location:
- Candidates must originate from the Washington DC area.
- Job sites will be in Washington DC.
- Jobs sites are subject to change or be added based on client needs and continued employment requires you to be able to work on site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the reception and intake of migrants arriving to the District and is responsible for managing intakes at the shelter according to eligibility criteria. Intakes include processing guest items according to District allowable items list, providing orientation to new guests, completing intake packets, obtaining releases of information, and entering information into the Department of Human Services-designated system (e.g., QuickBase).
- Conduct Basic/Initial needs assessment for guests that go through intake.
- Coordinate onward travel to resident destinations including purchase of travel arrangements (Regardless of length of stay of migrant).
- Conduct case management pre-screening and coordinating urgent service referrals.
- Provide information to clients to direct them to Office of Migrant Services information and services.
- Provide general migrant information services, food and snacks, and infant child nutrition.
- Computer terminals to access free Internet access.
- Ensure information is provided to clients in their primary language through use of the language line or other translation services as designated by the Department of Human Services.
- Capture all supporting client data as directed by the District to support all cost recovery efforts and District reporting.
- Report all unusual incidents as specified in this agreement or as required by the District.
- Support development and implementation of tracking systems to ensure accurate reporting with input from Office of Migrant Services Data Team and approval from Office of Migrant Services staff.
- Responsible for data entry quality and completeness through the lens of quality of information captured and accuracy of data reporting.
- Ensure intake data is updated twice daily and submitted as required to Office of Migrant Services.
- High School diploma or GED
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in social work or other health and human services field
- And/or Two or more years of humanitarian or migrant-support related experience preferred
- One year of direct service experience working with refugees, migrants or other vulnerable populations (required)
- Professional Registration or Certification including Project Management.
- Fluency in Spanish (bilingual English and Spanish).
- DC residents will receive priority.
$28/Hour
